When you buy a planner you are buying a licence to use it, not the copyright in it. This page sets out what that licence allows. Anything not covered here: ask us at contact@goodnotesplan.com.
What you can do
- Personal use. Plan, write, journal, budget and organise in the files as much as you like.
- Use it on your own devices. Import the same planner on your tablet, phone and computer.
- Print it. Print as many copies as you personally need, including reprints in later years.
- Back it up. Keep copies in your own cloud storage or on your own drives.
- Annotate and customise. Write on it, add pages, export a flattened copy for your own use.
What you cannot do
- Resell or redistribute the files, in whole or in part, including as part of a bundle, membership or template pack.
- Share the files with friends, colleagues, students or a group, or post them where others can download them.
- Claim authorship of the designs, or remove our branding and present the planner as your own product.
- Use them commercially — for example to plan for paying clients, or as part of a paid course or service — without a separate written licence.
- Use them as a template for a product you sell, even if you change the colours or the wording.
Households and teams
One purchase covers one person. If several members of a household want their own copy, each should have their own purchase — colours and layouts are usually personal anyway. For schools, clinics or businesses needing several users, email contact@goodnotesplan.com for a multi-user licence.
Third-party apps
GoodNotes, Notability, Noteshelf, Xodo and other apps are independent products with their own terms. Your licence from us covers our files only, and your use of those apps is governed by their agreements.
Copyright
All planner designs, cover artwork and accompanying text remain our copyright. The licence above is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable, and it ends if you breach it. Reports of unauthorised redistribution are handled under our Copyright & DMCA Notice.
