Print only the pages you use
The biggest paper waste is printing an entire hundred-page planner when you only ever open four spreads. Print the daily page twenty times, not the whole file once.
Use 100% scale, not fit-to-page
Printers love to shrink documents slightly to fit their own margins. Choose actual size or 100% and A4, or your carefully aligned boxes come out fractionally smaller each time you print.
Test one sheet first
Before committing to thirty pages, print a single sheet and check the margins, the line weight and how your pen behaves on that paper. Five minutes of testing saves a whole ream.
Consider greyscale and single-sided
Most planners print cleanly in greyscale, which saves colour ink and often looks calmer on paper. Single-sided is worth the extra sheets because most pens bleed through and you will want to write on the back.
Bind it your way
A simple bulldog clip, a three-ring binder or a cheap comb bind all work. Undated pages mean you can add more of whatever you run out of and leave out whatever you ignore, which a printed dated planner cannot do.
